Ajour linen refers to a type of linen fabric that has been embellished with ajour embroidery, also known as openwork or cutwork. This decorative technique involves making holes or gaps in the fabric, which are then finished with embroidery to create patterns. The result is a fabric that has a lace-like, delicate pattern with small openings.

Linen is spun from the flax plant and its beauty lies in the natural raw fibres which give the cloth its textured appearance. It is then pre-softened (without chemicals) by a special tumbling process which gives the linen a washed look and a soft finish.
