MILAN HOPPERESQUE REVERIES - AUTUMN/WINTER ’24/'25
We recently had the pleasure of collaborating with talented photographer Alexandra Adami for our AW’24/'25 capsule collection shoot in Milan. This time, her vision was inspired by the work of Edward Hopper, the renowned American realist painter, known for capturing the quiet, reflective moments of everyday life.
Hopper’s masterful use of light and shadow, combined with his focus on stillness and solitude, created a rich foundation for this campaign. Alexandra's out-of-the-box approach and her ability to surprise us yet again made this collaboration unforgettable.
This project held particular meaning as it allowed us to bring together the timeless elegance of Milan with the intricate beauty of our latest prints.
Working with Lola, a longtime family friend of our founder, we brought our Phoebe Silk PJ sets to life, featuring two new prints. The "Oriental Paisley" print is inspired by a century-old Chinese embroidery book, blending florals, tendrils, and delicate bird figures in vibrant and monochrome variations.
The "Merry-Go-Round" print, inspired by Japanese Katagami stencils, brings playful butterflies in earthy tones on an off-white background, adding a touch of whimsy and elegance to the collection.
Unexpected elements - a ‘chaise longue’ in an empty room, a kitchen, an empty bookcase, a clock, a deck of cards, a ballerina tutu, an empty cupboard,—became central to the narrative, echoing Hopper’s talent for infusing everyday objects with deeper meaning. These touches, combined with Alexandra’s unique flair, made the collection come alive in ways that felt both intimate and grand.
Alexandra’s signature blend of light, shadow, and color allowed each piece to tell its own story—one of art, history, and modern luxury.
Just as Hopper’s work explores themes of urban solitude, our collection too, is a balance of reflection and quiet confidence.
We invite you to discover the Milan Hopperesque Reveries, where the magic of Alexandra Adami’s vision, the timeless beauty of Milan, and the intricate richness of our prints come together to create something truly special.
With love,
Cécile and the Morpho + Luna team
