Our High-Tech Wool Fabric

Designed to keep you supremely comfortable when relaxing at home or when travelling, Morpho + Luna’s loungewear is made from an innovative high-tech wool fabric that’s typically used in sports clothing. This advanced material is made by renowned Italian textile company Reda (reda1865.com), which is the family business of Morpho + Luna co-founder Carola Botto Poala Voli. The company, which successfully combines tradition with innovation, operates a vertically integrated process, so that it has complete control over the entire production chain, ensuring a high level of quality and sustainability at every stage. Plus, Reda is the only wool mill in the world to have an EMAS environmental certification.

For its high-tech wool fabric, Reda takes only the finest Merino wool that has been reared on the company’s ZQ-accredited farms (ensuring fair, sustainable wool practices) in New Zealand. Back in Italy, the individual Merino wool fibres are treated with CompACT3 technology, an innovative spinning system that gives a smoother yarn. The Merino wool has a hydrophilic core that absorbs sweat vapour, which is then quickly released by the water-repellent outer layer. The wool fabric is not only incredibly soft and light, but also has excellent elasticity and resistance. Pure wool is proven to protect us from cold and heat, and the insulating properties of this fabric are particularly good, thanks to its fine and undulating fibres.

Our Merino wool loungewear is ideal for long-haul travel, as not only will it always be without creases at the end of the journey, it will help regulate your body temperature as you move between cool and warm environments. Wool fibre is also highly fire-resistant and generates very little heat, providing optimal protection against UV rays. Most of our Merino wool and wool flannel loungewear is machine-washable too, and the fabric’s high absorbency means it dries much more quickly than synthetic materials.
